Membership FAQ
Do I have to own a boat to be a member?
Boat ownership is not necessary to be a member of Coyote Point Yacht Club. Many members do not have boats, but are passionate about the water or water sports. If you wish to participate in the informal races or cruise outs, members are often willing to take others on as crew or guests.
How much does it cost to be a member?
Monthly dues are currently $91.00 per month. Your monthly bill will differ depending on your dining/bar use. Also an optional $25 is charged once a year (typically in December) for Employee Bonuses.
Is there an initiation fee?
Initiation fee is $300, which you pay when you first submit the application.
What kind of activities are there in the club?
There are monthly cruise-outs to various marinas and destinations around the Bay Area, as well as monthly regattas. In the summer months, there are informal, friendly races, followed by dinner and socializing. There are planned social events throughout the year. The upstairs dining room also serves lunch on Fridays, and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
We also sponsor or offer educational programs and environmental activities, such as Bay Front clean-up, and other green activities. For children ages 9-12, the club sponsors a Junior Sailing program during the summer.
Members are encouraged to join the club committees and bring new ideas for new activities.
What kind of amenities are there at the club?
The club has a full dining room and bar upstairs, as well as an informal lounge on the ground floor, with a big-screen TV and pool table. Limited wifi access is available on shore. As a member, you can rent the club at a discounted rate for private functions. In addition, there are showers, lockers, ice, and vending machines on the property. For boat owners, there is a launch ramp, fuel dock, and pump out station
The clubhouse and marina are located in the grounds of the Coyote Point Recreation Area, featuring the CuriOdyssey museum, the Poplar Creek Golf Course, and several miles of walking/biking trails. A large, waterfront playground is also within walking distance of the club. Membership in the club allows you to bypass the entrance fee at the gateway to the park.
How often can I use the club?
The building itself is accessible 24 hours, seven days a week with a member card-key, but the bar and dining room are staffed only on Fridays and weekends. There is no limit to the number of times you can visit the club.
